The Brothers in Christ Ministry is conducting a contest in which the students of Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic School, and students whose parents or guardians who are church parishioners, are invited to submit essays on values that are important to interpersonal relationships. Specifically, we see a need to stress the importance of Selflessness, Gratitude, Empathy and Generosity in young people. The competitors must consider these values and express their thoughts and feelings in writing.
Written essays myst be submitted to cover the following:
- How do you incorporate, Selflessness, Gratitude, Empathy and Generosity in your daily life? Do you see a lack of these values in your peers and society at large?
-
Do you think a lack of these values have resulted
in a sense of entitlement on their parts?
- How would you encourage others to live these values?
- You must justify your conclusions.
-
Quote passages from the bible that stress these
values.
-
Pledge to be a part of the solution.
The contest is open to students of Sacred Heart of Cambria Heights School in grades 5 through 8, Sacred Heart Boy Scouts and members of the teen club. All other students in grades 5 through 12, whose parents are registered members of Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church of Cambria Heights, are also invited to enter.
