- The Brothers in Christ Ministry is sponsoring an essay contest for students associated with Sacred Heart Church. The contest is also open to students of Sacred Heart School grades 5 through 12 and to students whose parents or guardians are registered members of Sacred Heart Parish or members of any groups or Boy Scout are invited to complete the application. The essays must cover Selflessness, Gratitude, Empathy and Generosity. Two winners will be chosen at the Black History Celebration and will be awarded an iPad2. Applications and instructions explaining the theme and rules of the contest can be obtained at the school, in the rectory, on the desk in the back of the church or see one the brothers in Christ members.
- The English Charismatic Group of Sacred Heart invites you to their annual retreat scheduled for the weekend of February 10 through 12 at “The Villa of Our Lady” Retreat House in Mt. Pocono. Donation is $135.00 per person, double occupancy, $150.00 single room occupancy plus transportation of $50.00. Recollection will be led by Deacon François Cajoux. For information, call the Rectory.
- The Sacred Heart Book Club members are reading “Radical: Taking Back your Faith from the American Dream” by David Platt. The book is not yet available through the book ministry, but members can begin reading it at no cost online at amazon.com or at books.google.com or can be purchased at large retail bookstores. The potluck book club meeting will be on Sunday, January 29th, 2012 at 5:00pm.
- You are all invited to come with us to “Sight & Sound theatre” to see “Jonah”, the Old Testament story of God’s love and mercy for all people. The donation is $115.00 for adult and $100.00 for children under 12 years old. The date is June 2nd, 2012. Call the Rectory or see Cindy Alexander or Dcn Francois for additional information.
- There will be a meeting for all the Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist on January 29th for the after the 10:00am Mass.
- The group “Service and Solidarity” cordially invites you to their 19th anniversary Valentine’s Day Dinner Dance at Sacred Heart Auditorium on Saturday, February 11 from 9:00pm to 2:00am.
