Christmas 2007
Dear child of mine,
Merry Christmas! I am so happy you have
come to my house tonight to be with me. Thank you for making it so beautiful
with decorations and with song.
This night is special to me too
because it is the anniversary of the night I came to you so many years ago now
(has it been that long?), a little
shivering child, poor ordinary parents, bad accommodations and all to identify
with your struggles, your suffering, your frustration, your concerns. I want
you to know I know how it feels.
I came to say “I’m sorry”.
Sorry for the misunderstandings
that still separate us. As much as I try, people still believe I am into
lightning bolts, plagues, smiting people . . .
I am sorry for the difficulties you
have in your world and what you have done to it. I don’t like crime, hatred and
wars. I didn’t intend it this way but this is how it turned out and I am sorry.
It is because I made each of you with free-will. I had to do it this way
because I wanted to be loved by you, I wanted you to know my love, I wanted you
to know the joy of loving each other. We as God enjoy each other so much and
love each other so much, I just had to share it with you.
I couldn’t force you to do this. I
couldn’t insist. Love has to be free or it is not love at all.
I came as a defenseless, innocent
baby to help you see the good in each other, to know that as he grew up I was
willing to sacrifice my very own Son to forgive you and to show you how to
forgive yourselves and each other. I am amazed how mean you can be to each
other and for what? What has it gotten you?
So what do you say we try again
this Christmas? Come back to me with all your heart, come home to me and I will
give you peace. Learn from me and you will find your life. I don’t like to
shout so when you talk to me you’ll have to be very quiet to hear me answering
back . . . and I will.
A friend of mine, John, wrote down
something my Son said long ago and I repeat it:
“Here I am!
I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I
will come in and eat with him, and he with me. To him who overcomes, I will
give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down
with my Father on his throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit
says to the churches."
So enjoy your Christmas and be good to each other. Let’s get together on a regular basis and I will show you a life worth living. I accept you, I appreciate you, I love you and you are mine. I enjoy being your God.
Merry Christmas, peace and blessings,
The Father of the Little One of Bethlehem
